I was in a fog

One of my favorite cities in the US is San Francisco. Have you been?

You usually enter the city through the iconic Golden Gate bridge, which gives me butterflies each time. When you look out the window of the car, you’ll see wide stretches of blue oceans, blending into soft, creamy gray skies.

On a clear day, you can see the bridge stretch far ahead of you. But more often than not, you will be met with fog, blurring the destination you are headed towards. You know you're moving forward, but you can’t see the destination quite yet.

That image has been on my mind a lot lately.

A few months ago, I opened my calendar and felt my stomach drop.

We were wrapping up on 2025 events and had a few booked for 2026. But the problem was, there were 3 full months in between with absolutely nothing. Just white space.

I panicked. I brainstormed. I questioned everything.

I even considered using this time to take a break, which honestly wouldn’t have been a bad thing if that’s where things landed.

I sat in the quiet and asked God whether or not I should use this time to take that break, but I heard His voice clearly. Keep going.

I sighed, said "okayyy," and sat in uncertainty for what felt like ages.

And then, almost all at once, the fog lifted.

My inbox started to fill up in a way that felt surreal…

A request to paint at a movie premiere opening night.

An inquiry to fly out to Park City for the Sundance Film Festival.

An invitation to paint for a gala at a national tennis tournament.

And another really exciting event I can’t talk about yet because… NDA 🤫

All I have to say is, thank goodness I had the white space to book these dream projects! What had once freaked me out ended up being a huge blessing.

While it’s fun to share the wins with you, this moment took me back to those foggy drives into San Francisco.

You don’t always get a clear view of what’s ahead. You just keep showing up, staying on course, trusting that the bridge you’re on is taking you where you’re meant to go, even when you can’t see the destination yet.

And if you want to make sure you like where you're going, I have a full blog post out on finding clarity. I hope it helps you set your foot on the right course.

Don't let the fog stop you from pursuing the deep desires of your heart. Keep going. Keep dreaming.

Sincerely, me circa 2013 ✌️
